Stephan Strohmeier has headed the Safety & Security business area at NewTec GmbH since 2018. With his team of long-standing experts from highly regulated industries, he is responsible for all safety and security matters within the company, including the associated processes and functional safety management. This covers early-phase concept development aligned with notified bodies as well as process consulting, training and coaching for customers and partners.

His own focus lies on identifying relevant new technologies and integrating them into NewTec's portfolio. Currently, this includes the use of AI both in the development process and within safety functions. He is also an active member of STG8 within IEC TC 9 WG43, contributing to IEC 61375 in the field of railway communication (TCN). Before joining NewTec, he worked as a scientific researcher and co-founded FreshX GmbH in 2002, which specialised in the development of secure network systems. Mr Strohmeier is a certified cybersecurity specialist according to IEC 62443 and ISO/SAE 21434 (TÜV Rheinland).
